Job Description

Perform research, write and edit Certification and Accreditation documentation based on DoD’s DITSCAP requirements. Help develop and implement solutions DoD  IATO and ATO requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in C&A site visits as a team member
  • Plan and estimate documentation requirements for projects.
  • Unit test users guides, manuals and procedural documentation against written procedures.
  • Conduct surveys to determine and improve the use of documentation.
  • Attend product team meetings as Technical Communications representative.
 
Desired Skills:

Information Assurance/security policy development, Certification, security architecture design, development, and planning, security engineering analysis, Information Assurance, INFOSEC, DITSCAP/NIACAP, good understanding of communications and network engineering, strong writing skills and command of English language, ability to interact with senior management, competent MS Office suite skills. Knowledge of System Security Engineering Capability Maturity Model (SSE-CMM).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Certification and Accreditation Methodology.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with UNIX and Windows operating systems.
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience as technical writer in a government IT environment.
  • Superior communication and research/analysis skills.
  • At least 3 years experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software and
    flow charting/diagramming software.

  • Should also be detail-oriented and have the ability to work well individually or as part of a team.

Other areas may include planning, training, and preparation for contingency and disaster recovery operations.

 
Education

Functional Responsibility:

Applies advanced networking concepts in the analysis, study, and design of data networks. Analyzes network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput) and recommends procurement, removals, and modifications to network components. Designs and optimizes network topologies and site configurations. Plans installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities. May review existing network designs and capabilities with the goal of making refinements, reducing operating overhead, enhancing network throughput, and improving current network topologies. May provide task direction to less experienced network engineers.
